Unfortunately, some websites do not have medically accurate information or pro-choice views. We've gathered a selection of trusted online resources to support you at your pace, in your own way.
Counselling & Phone Support
Choice in Health Clinic offers free, non-judgmental counselling support. A health card is not required. Call 416-975-9300 to make an appointment to speak by phone with a registered social worker who is caring and informative.
Planned Parenthood Toronto has a Peer Educator program to explore judgement-free pregnancy options and abortion for ages 13-29 at no cost. Call 416-961-0113
Action Canada provides a toll-free, confidential talkline staffed by trained volunteers to discuss pregnancy options and post-abortion counselling. Call 1‑888‑642‑2725 M-Sun 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Connect and Breathe is an after-abortion non-judgmental talk-line to talk freely about your experience. Also serves partners, friends, and family, and offers online resources. Call 1-866-647-1764 Tu-Thurs 6-9 p.m., Sa 10-2 p.m.
Exhale Text-line provides non-judgmental after-abortion support through text. Also serves partners, friends, and family, and offers online resources. Text 617- 749-2948 in the evening. M-Fri 6-midnight, Sa 4-midnight, Su 6-10 p.m.
All-Options Talk-line promotes unconditional, judgment-free support for people in all of their decisions, feelings, and experiences with pregnancy, parenting, abortion, and adoption. Call 1-888-493-0092 M-Fri 10-1 a.m., Sa-Su 10-6 p.m.
Safe2Choose’s medically-trained counselling team is available for abortion support via e-mail and live chat from Mon-Fri, with counselors situated in different time zones.
SHORE Centre offers safe, confidential, non-directed emotional support and abortion counselling with a registered social worker. Services are available virtually or in-person, and post-abortion counselling is available for a sliding-scale fee, with no charge for pre-abortion and options counselling.
Bay Center (Women’s College Hospital) can counsel on pregnancy decision-making and a range of abortion options and services. Call 416-351-3700 M-Fri 8:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Online Resources
The National Abortion Federation (NAF) is the professional association of abortion providers in North America, with information and blog articles in English, French, and Spanish.
Abortion Care Canada formerly known as NAF, also provides free non-biased pregnancy options counselling, available in English, French and Spanish (with additional languages available).
Abortion Conversation Projects is a non-profit group that wants to make it easier for people to talk about abortion.
The Pregnancy Options and Abortion Resolution Workbooks provide space for folks to explore their emotions related to pregnancy decision-making and having an abortion.
My Post Care offers holistic content addressing medical side effects and symptoms, emotional and psychological well-being, and family planning options, as well as personalized support through email notifications addressing the natural stages and changes in the post-abortion care journey.
SHORE Centre and Planned Parenthood Toronto offer post-abortion peer support sessions. These series occur periodically, and you can check these links for upcoming dates.
Patient and Infant Loss Network (Sunnybrook) hosts monthly online peer groups for grief after abortion and pregnancy loss.
Religion & Spirituality
Faith Aloud Interfaith Reproductive Justice offers counselling, hosts videos, and a blog about overcoming the religious stigma of abortion and reproductive health.
Catholics for Choice advocates for rights to birth control, reproductive healthcare and safe, legal abortion access. This website provides talking points to help inform Catholics about abortion, as well as an online magazine and educational resources.

Birth control options and STI testing at Choice in Health are available as part of an abortion appointment. If you are not receiving abortion care from us, or if your care and follow-up were already completed, see below.

Find clinics in your region at Sexual Health Ontario
Public sexual health clinics do not require a referral or OHIP card
You must schedule an appointment to discuss any birth control that you would like to start or continue
You can get an IUD or implant, pick up low-cost birth control, or get a prescription to fill at any pharmacy

See above for information on sexual health clinics, which sell low-cost birth control. Birth control usually costs more at a pharmacy, but you may be eligible for programs that reduce the price when you go to fill your prescription.

All Canadian residents can apply to programs like Innovicares and RxHelp ONE, include some types of birth control
Before an appointment for an IUD or implant insertion, a doctor can apply on your behalf to receive it for free through the manufacturer (shipping fee of approx. $45 applies)
Benefits plans:
If you are eligible for a benefits plan, your coverage will allow you to pick up low-cost or free birth control when you fill your prescription at a pharmacy.
Private plans are sometimes provided through an employer, educational institution, or family member
